HIGHLY SKILLED WORKERS

In response to the ever changing demands of today’s modern economy, it is important for governments to develop a strategy to help their current and future workforce gain the skills needed to adapt to the demands of a changing economy.

The development of highly skilled workers and a better alignment between skills demand and supply can boost productivity and economic growth. We ranked the states by the proportion of the workforce who were employed in professional/technical/managerial occupations which usually required a post secondary education or a certain amount of experience in a relevant field.
